AIR: TAKE A BREATH OF HEAVEN!
Why Do I Need Oxygen?
Oxygen is needed by the body to produce rich, red blood cells.
The red blood cells deliver oxygen to the organs, muscles and other body systems. This helps the body’s cells do the work they were intended to do.
Some Facts:
The air we breathe is made up of permanent gases in the atmosphere - including oxygen, nitrogen, neon, argon, helium and hydrogen. The most abundant of these permanent gases include: nitrogen (78%) and oxygen (21%).
It is not usual for a person to live for more than 5 – 6 minutes without breathing.
Oxygen is produced by plants.
Areas That Don’t Have The Best Air:
1. Freeways or near freeways. This is because of exhaust from cars and trucks. 2. Airports and on airplanes.
3. Near factories and smoke stacks.
4. Bars and restaurants that allow smoking and that have poor ventilation.
5. Areas near landfills and dump sites.
6. Locations where large numbers of people are in poorly ventilated areas. 7. Your home – if it is not kept clean and well ventilated.
